Jumpix is a 2D PC platformer game that combines a fast-paced, retro pixel-art aesthetic with a cosmic world of gears and galaxies. The name "Jumpix" perfectly captures the core of the game: "Jump" represents the fast and dynamic jumping mechanics that drive the gameplay, while "Pix" celebrates the classic pixel-art visual style.

The game was developed and assembled using the Godot Engine to build the mechanics, world environments, and PC gameplay, utilizing carefully selected ready-made character sprites and assets. To give the project its unique identity, the custom user interfaces (UI) and visual layouts were meticulously crafted using Adobe Illustrator. Created as a final project for the Visual Communication Design program, Jumpix represents a complete journey in game design, translating a creative thematic concept into a playable desktop experience.

How to Play Jumpix

Thank you for downloading Jumpix! Follow these quick steps to get the game running on your PC:

  1. Download the File: Click the download button to get the compressed Jumpix.zip folder.
  2. Extract the Files: Once the download is complete, locate the Jumpix.zip file on your computer, right-click it, and select "Extract All..." (or use tools like WinRAR/7-Zip) to unpack the folder.
  3. Run the Game: Open the extracted folder, find the Jumpix.exe application file, and double-click it to start playing instantly!

Requirements & Troubleshooting:

  • Prerequisites: No installation or extra libraries are required! The game is fully self-contained thanks to the Godot Engine, so you do not need to install any external software beforehand.
  • Windows Protection Notice: Because this is an independent indie project, Windows SmartScreen might pop up with a blue window saying "Windows protected your PC" when you launch the .exe for the first time.
    • To bypass this: Simply click on "More info" and then click the "Run anyway" button. The game is completely safe!
  • Controls: The game is fully optimized for standard PC keyboard controls.
